the term "mental illness" serves as a synecdoche. Like the phrase "boots on the ground" or "hired hand", a portion refers to the whole thing. Unwellness occurs in part in one's mental processes, but cannot occur exclusively in one's thinking.

As overwhelming external pressures decline, wellness measurably improves. Powerholders incentivized to support

If powerholders can negatively impact such needs, we can turn this around to positively impact them and earn credit.

Disagree mental health depends on both internal and external factors? Feel free to provide disconfirming evidence.

Your "I-need" messages

Rarely, do those exploiting the vulnerable realize the aggregate impact from others also exploiting the vulnerable. Eventually, the exploiters suffer some of the consequences. Until now.

Instead of keeping their needs private, they post their public facing needs for all to see. To then hold the powerful accountable for their impact on their wear and tear.

Not to confront them, but to offer this unique opportunity to improve their own responsiveness to such needs. To improve their professional brand. We drop adversarialism to make room for our mutuality process.

Powerholders: You don't know what  you don't know.

Introducing "I-need" messages

To restore your wellness and remove your pain, you must resolve your needs. You can resolve some of your needs on your own, but resolving most of your needs requires cooperation with others.

Relying exclusively on impersonal norms like laws or policies to incentivize other's cooperation exposes you to disappointment. In fact, your current level of wellness points to likely minimal cooperation from others, who are busy struggling with their own declining degrees of wellness.

The greatest impact on your wellness, and risk to your mental health, is not the quality of your thinking. No, it is how well your many needs can promptly and fully resolve. Much of which sits outside your personal control.

The more your inflexible needs remain exposed to those with more social power than you, the more likely you suffer some needs, or many needs, not promptly or fully resolving. The less your needs resolve, the less your capacity to fully function.

No amount of intellectual capacity or mindful cognition will stop those in positions of authority from negatively impacting your exposed needs. They typically remain unaware of their harmful impacts upon you. That is why this service exists.

Measuring improved wellness

To keep this service accountable to evidence-based outcomes, the need-messenger routinely fills out a well-check survey. It gauges their levels of anxiety, depression, and addictiveness throughout the program.

The program anticipates improved outcomes in all three areas as powerholders enable the need-messenger to more fully resolve their affected needs. This effectively shifts the stigma from the good faith need-messenger to those powerholders presenting a lack of competence.

This starts with capturing the need-messenger's baseline. Which provides a starting point with which we can compare later. We use this downloadable interactive spreadsheet tool as we test the viability of this service.
